In healthcare, numbers matter. For example, when patients know and follow their weight, blood pressure, cholesterol and blood sugar level, they are often able to take better control of their own health and can work with their healthcare providers to make good choices to stay healthy.
MyDentalScore.com is a simple, confidential* self-assessment** that provides a scientifically validated numerical score to help you to better understand your risk for oral disease.
There are three main oral diseases - tooth decay, gum disease and oral cancer. MyDentalScore.com will ask you some questions that will help to estimate your risk of experiencing the effects of these diseases, as well as the severity of any current disease you may have.
Once you have completed your self assessment, MyDentalScore.com provides oral health resources and information about dental decay, gum disease and oral cancer as well as the importance of oral health for overall health. Additional resources can be found on the Northeast Delta Dental website under the Oral Health tab on our “Patients” page.
We also encourage you to print a copy of your results and share them with your dentist at your next visit. If your dentist uses the PreViser analytic software for oral disease and risk assessment, he or she can validate your self assessment and provide you with objective reports to help you understand your oral health needs.
